About Us, Our Trainer, Our Training Model

NOT BEING AGILE IS NO Longer AN OPTION

AgileTraining.Co

We make Agile adoption easy by changing the way Agile training is delivered.

Traditional Agile courses are all about getting certifications.
Our training programs focus on developing an Agile Mind.

Our Training Philosophy

Learning Agile should not just be about achieving a certification or passing a test. It should be about the realization that there exists a better way to succeed in today’s business environment. With this awareness, you can accomplish more for your team and for your clients.

At AgileTraining.Co, we understand the importance of the “Spirit of Agile” and have designed our training programs with the aim of helping every attendee develop an Agile Mind, rather than a static mindset. Having your “mind” be “set” implies a lack of flexibility and a resistance to future adaptation, both of which are contrary to what being Agile is all about.

Our Training Approach

Our training programs are grounded in practical techniques, hands-on workshops, and best practices that add real value to an Individual, a Team, and an Organization.

The Spirit of Agile starts at the individual level. Our training programs and coaching enable every attendee to understand the core concepts behind Agile, as well as what it means to be Agile — both in action and in thought.

Our team-based training sessions empower teams to learn how to use their individual Agility while collaborating with others to achieve challenging business goals. Team members also learn how to flourish within the interconnected roles and systems of Agile and experience professional growth therein.

When it comes to organizations, our focus is on leadership training. Most organizations are run by knowledge workers; therefore, our leadership training programs teach traditional management how to become Agile Leaders who can guide the knowledge workers of today.

About Our Chief Agile Trainer

All of our training programs are designed by our Chief Agile Trainer Gourab Nanda, a highly-experienced Agile Trainer. Gourab is a senior Agile instructor, Certified Scrum Professional, Certified Agile Leader, Kanban Management Professional, and SAFe Program Consultant. He has been conducting training and coaching programs for Scrum, Agile, Lean, and SAFe throughout North America since 2012. Gourab has conducted over 300 Scrum and Agile programs and trained thousands of IT professionals, Project Managers, Consultants, Teachers, and Senior Executives from both commercial companies as well as government agencies. He has led private Agile training sessions at organizations like the Bank of America, the Department of Justice, Customers Bank, PwC, American Express, the CIA, GlaxoSmithKline, Kaiser Permanente, SAIC, USPS, Guardian Life, Honeywell, Rockwell Automation, Booz Allen, Dunn & Bradstreet, and many more.

Gourab provides training for formal certification courses and conducts executive seminars on Agile, Scrum, and Lean-Agile-related subjects. He also offers virtual support for all Agile transformation challenges. His unique training style keeps students engaged in the class. His complete command over both theoretical and practical aspects of Agile principles has helped him achieve numerous accolades from individual learners as well as from organizations.

After gaining 10 years of technology and management experience in a variety of industries, Gourab became a Technology Entrepreneur in 2006. His extreme passion for software product development motivated him to become an Agile trainer and coach. Gourab believes that Agile is the best thing that could have happened to the software industry. After successfully founding and selling his first company, Gourab is currently the founder and CEO of VendorFit.com, where he practices Agile methods. Gourab holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the National Institute of Technology and an MBA from Brigham Young University.

QUOTES FROM OUR CHIEF AGILE TRAINER

  • Agile has nothing to do with technology, but if you are a technology professional, you’d better be an Agile person.
  • Value is always a function of time and context. What is valuable to you today may not be valuable to you tomorrow.
  • Your product is only as Agile as your Product Manager.
  • There are no Agile processes. There are only Agile people. The processes, like Scrum, that we call Agile are designed to create an environment where teams can become more Agile.
  • A finished Product is a dead Product.
  • Don’t try to become Agile. Just stop being rigid.
  • The better the training, the easier the coaching.
  • Delivering value is, first, a personal agenda.
  • Every company is Agile to some extent, but we are always working to improve our Agility. There is no such thing as 100% Agile.
  • A Scrum Certification does not make you a Scrum Master.
  • A Product is not about imposing your ideas in the form of functionalities; it’s about delivering something that users perceive as valuable in their day-to-day lives.

What companies are saying about our Agile Programs

An Agile Expert Certified Training class was recently conducted here at the USPS Wilkes-Barre Solutions Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The training was a three-day class conducted from 04-20-15 through 04-22-15. Our class consisted of 16 employees; most were developers, a few Business Systems Analysts, and two Business Project Leaders. The 16 students came to class with an array of different Agile backgrounds, some with very little Agile experience or exposure. After he discovered that the students were of varying degrees of the understanding of Agile, Gourab essentially restructured the class to ensure that each student was able to receive the maximum benefit of the three-day class. The Agile instructor Gourab Nanda did a really fine job instructing the class given the varying Agile backgrounds of the class. The students were kept quite busy during all three days. All 16 students furnished me with verbal high words of praise for Gourab. I would state that given the comments that I received from the students and Gourab that the three-day class was indeed very successful. I would personally recommend Gourab to teach Agile Certified Training to all of the USPS Solution Centers or any Corporation utilizing the Agile Expert Certified Methodologies.

Gourab’s Scrum and Product Owner training was extremely valuable for our NATO teams. Due to Covid-19, we had to move our training from in-person to an online format. Gourab ensured the two-day training was engaging and interactive. The material was relevant and the practical exercises really helped our teams understand how to integrate the lessons into our daily work and processes. I highly recommend Gourab and his team!
