The private sector has benefited from SAFe tools for a long time.  Lately, government agencies have also realized that they can build systems to serve people more efficiently by adopting Lean-Agile principles. However, the adoption of Lean-Agile best practices presents an altogether different set of challenges in the public sector context.

There are many complex issues in government programs such as legacy governance, organizational barrier, multi-vendor environments, etc. which make the transition challenging. SAFe version 5.1 includes special consideration for the government in the “SAFe for Government training” program.

This training program is focused on how to lay the foundation of Lean-Agile values, principles, and practices for government programs. The training helps strengthen the process and technical capabilities, which allow entities to create the systems or software that deliver government programs.

Exam Access: Participants can access the exam using the SAFe Community Platform upon completion of the SAFe Agilist course.

Passing Score: 32 out of 45 (71%)

Exam Retake: Each retake attempt costs $50. Second attempt on exam (first retake) can be done immediately after first attempt. Third attempt requires a 10-day wait. Fourth attempt requires a 30-day wait.
Certification Renewal: SAFe® 5.1 Government Practitioner certification needs to be renewed annually. Renewal fee is $100.
